VMT Project Manager
Job Description:
This position is for managing projects in central Iowa.
The Project Manager does pre-planning for each of their projects. They take time to look over the project plans and specifications and create tentative schedules with their foremen.
They create a vision of how they would like to see the project performed, and work with their foremen to make sure the project goes as smoothly as possible.
The employee is responsive to both their foremen, other contractors’, and customer needs in terms of information. If our foremen, contractors, or customers have any questions in regards to our portion of the project at hand, the Project Manager is making sure they are getting the answers to these questions in a timely manner.
The Project Manager takes time to walk the job site with the foremen, address any problems or concerns they might have at that time, and effectively coach them through the project.
The Project Manager processes all of their billing, change orders, submittals, material lists, locate, RFI’s, safety training requests, and inspection requests properly and in a timely manner.
The Project Manager makes sure their crews have all of the proper material and manpower they need to complete a project safely and on time.
Effectively communicating the plan for the job site with the foreman and making sure that they have all of the proper material, manpower, tools, equipment, and answers they need to get the job done.
Track progress of each job site.
Attend weekly onsite meetings for each job site.
Go over material lists with their foremen.
Order material for each job site.
Perform owner training when required.
Meet with owners, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors when necessary.
Requirements:
Must be willing to relocate and live in Newton, IA
Minimum of 3 years experience as a foreman
Ability to lead teams of foremen and apprentices
Ability to create an accurate two-week schedule
Basic computer skills

The foreman will be in charge of making sure that the day-to-day operations of the job site go smoothly. They will need to efficiently lead their crew, making sure that each member constantly has a task to do. This will take constant planning and organization. The job foreman is responsible for keeping track of what material is showing up to the job site each week, what material they are running low on, and what material can be sent back. The job foreman is responsible for communicating with the Project Manager about the job status, and any issues that may come about. Keeping a safe and efficient job site is a main priority.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience as a foreman
Ability to lead a crew of 1 to 6 workers efficiently
Ability to create an accurate two-week schedule

Requirements:
1-2 years of formal electronics training, such as “basic circuits.”
1-2 years of formal wiring installation and termination training
1-2 years of network training
2-3 years of general low voltage experience (intercom, telephone, MATV, etc.)
1-2 years of access control experience
1-2 years of both analog & IP video security experience
1-2 years of experience reading & understanding project technical specifications
1-2 years of experience reading & understanding project drawings and details
