This course is specifically designed for attorneys or representatives interested in representing disabled claimants with respect to claims before the Social Security Administration. Attendees will learn the basic aspects of the how a claimant is determined to be "disabled" by the Administration and be provided with helpful logistical information to navigate the disability process through the administrative hearing level. While this course is geared toward attorneys and representatives, all interested in the disability process are welcome.
About the presenter: Maria Bermudez is a Philadelphia lawyer with twelve years of experience in the areas of Social Security and Long Term Disability benefits. She has represented thousands of claimant’s unable to work due to their impairments during administrative proceedings and in federal court. Before starting her own disability practice, Maria was an Attorney Advisor for the Social Security Administration. She previously served as the co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Social Security Disability Committee.
