A short letter from our Executive Director:
To my fellow veterans,
We’ve all made our share of sacrifices for the betterment of our country. I couldn’t be prouder of my service, but being deployed to a war zone certainly took its toll on my personal and professional life.
My organization, however, refuses to let your sacrifice go unnoticed. To that end, we created the nation’s first Hispanic Veteran Entrepreneur Training Program designed specifically with you in mind. We know how intelligent and incredibly well-trained, disciplined, loyal, and skilled you all are and we know some of you have aspirations to start your own business, or have already started one.
Well now is the time to take the initiative, get the training, and start your business or take your existing one to the next level, and we’re going to help you do it!
For up to 30 individual veterans, we will provide an educational opportunity – in conjunction with the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) and The George Washington University – this November surrounding Veteran’s Day, that will offer the following (plus a lot more surprises to come): an introduction to the entrepreneurial process, options for financing a small business, organizational and regulatory issues, opportunities and assistance available to veterans, along with site visits to the Small Business Administration (SBA), Capitol Hill, and highly successful businesses located in the Washington, D.C. area.
If you’ve already found the road to prosperity, perhaps you’d be interested in lending a helping hand to your fellow brother or sister in arms by making a donation to ensure we have enough to cover travel, food, lodging, and training for as many applicants as we can. You can make your generous donation of any amount here.
I’d personally like to thank you all for your service. You’ve all made sacrifices that few will understand outside of our fellow veterans, and you all deserve more than anyone can ever do to repay you. But, that won’t stop us from trying to help you succeed by starting, or growing, a business that hires others and helps our nation’s communities. I look forward to seeing you in Washington, D.C.!
With utmost respect and admiration,
