Our partners at the Puerto Rico Energy Forum have a special event coming up on May 27 at 1pm. We will be visiting Medtronic's Manufacturing Facility in Juncos, PR.
Medtronic is the largest life sciences company in Puerto Rico with over 50 years of history across four locations. They have nearly 1,000,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 5,000 employees. You can read a profile of their local business here:
The event will consist of three parts:
Tour of the Facility
Manufacturing and clean room areas
Cogeneration facility with 2G Energy
4.2 MW solar carport
Panel: Making the Medtronic Microgrid
Billy Laboy, Facilities Director (Medtronic)
Eddie Ortiz, Sr. Facilities Manager (Medtronic)
Adiel Morales, PR Branch Manager (2G Energy)
Augusto Gallardo, COO (Solx)
Update from the Puerto Rico Energy Forum's Microgrid Working Group
The event will be followed by a small reception of snacks and refreshments. The visit to Medtronic comes on the heels of our Power Hour Conversation with Adiel Morales about industrial microgrids, how 2G's clients handle the blackouts in Puerto Rico, and what they are seeing in the marketplace. You can catch that conversation here:
